Qualified as hosts, with the tournament heading to South American soil for the first time. Brazil will be aiming to reach the final for the second time, after they fell to Germany in the 2007 decider.

The Matildas secured qualification for a ninth consecutive edition by defeating Korea DPR 2-1 in the quarter-finals of the AFC Women's Asian Cup. Goals in either half from Alanna Kennedy and hometown heroine Sam Kerr were enough for a hard-fought win in Western Australia.

The Steel Roses downed Chinese Taipei in extra-time in the quarter-finals of the Women's Asian Cup to qualify for the global finals. China, the 1991 and 2007 host nation, have now qualified for nine of the tournament's ten editions.

The Taegeuk Ladies booked passage to a fifth Women's World Cup after a comprehensive 6-0 win over Uzbekistan in the quarter-finals of the Women's Asian Cup. That win featured six different scorers and returns Korea to the global stage where they will be looking to improve on a Round of 16 exit at Canada 2015, their best showing to date.

Japan maintained a perfect record of having qualified for every edition of the Women's World Cup as they stormed past the Philippines in the quarter-finals of the Women's Asian Cup. The 7-0 win featured six different scorers and with a dominant qualification display the Nadeshiko are sure to be among the title contenders at the global finals.

Having made their tournament bow at Australia/New Zealand 2023, the Philippines are heading to a second edition of the global finals after downing Uzbekistan in their play-off match at the Women's Asian Cup. Two veterans from the previous edition, Angela Beard and Jaclyn Sawicki scored the Filipinas goals in the 2-0 victory, with both set up by starlet Jael Guy.

Korea DPR are back on the global stage for the first time since Germany 2011 after they powered past Chinese Taipei 4-0 in their play-off match at the Women’s Asian Cup. Forward Hong Song-ok grabbed a hat-trick as the reigning Women’s U-17 and U-20 champions now look to transfer their global youth dominance onto the senior stage.

New Zealand continued their extraordinary domination of Oceania qualifiers as they won all five matches, scoring 25 goals without conceding. They were pushed all the way though, in the final on 15 April, 2026, with a second half Katie Kitching ultimately proving enough to send the Football Ferns to a sixth consecutive edition of the global finals.

A 1-1 draw at home against Peru on the penultimate matchday of the CONMEBOL preliminaries moved Argentina into an unassailable position inside the top two to book a fifth appearance at the global finals. Starlet Mercedes Diz enhanced her growing reputation with the decisive second half goal.

A fine first half strike from Gisela Robledo led Colombia to a 1-0 win over Uruguay in Cali on the second last day of the CONMEBOL qualifiers. That ensured that the nation had secured a top two finish and thus a ticket to what will be their fourth outing at the Women's World cup.

Germany became the first European nation to qualify, downing Norway 2-0 on matchday five. Marie Muller found the net on her debut, with Carlotta Wamser doubling Germany's lead in Cologne.
