Having initially picked a 29-player provisional roster, Koubek has whittled his selection down to 26. Attacking midfielder Adam Hlozek, who has missed most of the Bundesliga season for Hoffenheim, has sufficiently recovered from calf and foot injuries and looks set for an important role. He scored in a 2-1 friendly win over Kosovo on 31 May.

Seventeen-year-old Sparta Prague midfielder Hugo Sochurek is included, but Pavel Bucha, Christophe Kabongo and Tomas Ladra have been cut from Koubek's provisional selection.

Lyon midfielder Pavel Sulc, Bayer Leverkusen striker Patrik Schick and West Ham midfield Tomas Soucek will provide valuable experience to the Czech squad, who will be taking part in the global finals for the first time since Germany 2006.

Slavia Prague players David Doudera and Tomas Chory will be without valuable match practice after being given lengthy bans following red cards in the recent abandoned Prague derby.
