FIFA opened the fourth and final ticket sales window on April 1, 2026, on a first-come, first-served basis — and the numbers are staggering. The most expensive tickets for the World Cup final at MetLife Stadium now cost $10,990, up from $8,680 during the previous sales period following the December draw.
Second-class tickets for the final are priced at $7,380, up from $5,575, while third-class tickets have jumped from $4,185 to $5,785. The resale marketplace opened on April 2, adding another avenue for fans to secure their seats — albeit at potentially even higher prices.
Fan groups have been vocal in their criticism. 'These prices exclude ordinary supporters and turn the World Cup into an event for the wealthy,' said a spokesperson for Football Supporters Europe. Approximately 7 million total tickets are expected to be sold across 16 stadiums, and prior phases saw over 1 million tickets sold from more than 500 million requests.
Group stage tickets remain more affordable, with some starting from $35 for Category 4 seats, though high-demand matches involving hosts and favourites command significantly higher prices.
