The 2026 FIFA World Cup field is officially set. Following the conclusion of the playoff tournaments on March 31, all 48 nations are confirmed for the biggest World Cup in history. Here's a look at the 12 groups that will shape the tournament from June 11 to June 27.
The groups of death are plentiful. Group H pits Spain against Uruguay, Saudi Arabia and Cape Verde — a clash of European and South American heavyweights. Group K features Portugal and Colombia alongside Uzbekistan and DR Congo. Group L sees England drawn with 2018 finalists Croatia, Panama and Ghana.
The host nations are spread across three groups: Mexico in Group A (with South Korea, South Africa, Czechia), Canada in Group B (with Switzerland, Qatar, Bosnia and Herzegovina), and the USA in Group D (with Australia, Paraguay, Türkiye). All three will be expected to advance from their respective groups.
Defending champions Argentina face Austria, Algeria and Jordan in Group J and are heavy favourites to top their group. France, now ranked No. 1 in the world, face Senegal, Iraq and Norway in Group I. Brazil take on Morocco, Scotland and Haiti in Group C.
