Tunisia part ways with Lamouchi

Tunisia have dismissed coach Sabri Lamouchi one match into their campaign. The announcement came following the 5-1 defeat by Sweden in their opening match at Monterrey Stadium.

A former France international who had previously coached Côte d'Ivoire, as well as clubs in France, England, Wales and Saudi Arabia, Lamouchi was appointed as Tunisia's coach in January following Sami Trabelsi's departure after a last-16 exit to Mali in the CAF Africa Cup of Nations.

The 54-year-old took charge of five matches, winning one, drawing one and losing three. The defeat by Sweden left Tunisia bottom of Group F. Their next game is against Japan on Saturday 20 June.
