Jesse Marsch has extended his contract as head coach of the though the FIFA World Cup 2030™. Canada Soccer announced the extension on Monday.
The American took over in May 2024 and guided the team to the CONMEBOL Copa America semi-finals that year and a record placing of 26th in the in September 2025. He has also provided a platform for young stars and expanded the players pool by bringing in a series of .
“From day one, I’ve felt a deep connection to this team, to this country, and to the direction of the program," Marsch said in a statement. "I believe Canada has tremendous potential with this generation of players and look forward to seeing the development of soccer across the country.
"I’m thrilled to make a longer-term commitment here, to helping develop this program for years, and continuing to push this group to the highest level.”
Marsch is preparing to lead Canada into their first World Cup on home soil, who are taking part in a training camp in Charlotte, North Carolina, this week. He confirmed that superstar Alphonso Davies will be part of his roster but is unlikely to be fit to face for the opener against Bosnia and Herzegovina at Toronto Stadium on 12 June.
Seeking their maiden World Cup win, Canada have been drawn with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Qatar and Switzerland in Group B.

"He’s instilled a clear identity and raised the competitive bar for our team.
