Czechia coach Miroslav Koubek has resigned following the nation's group-stage exit at the .
The Czechs finished bottom of Group A, having taken just one point from their matches against Korea Republic, South Africa and Mexico.
The 74-year-old boss only took on the role ahead of Czechia's World Cup play-off matches. He guided them to successive penalty-shootout victories over the Republic of Ireland and Denmark, which secured the country's return to the global finals after a 20-year absence.
David Trunda, President of the Football Association of the Czech Republic, said: “The coach offered me his position at a personal meeting today and I decided to accept his offer after an open and fair debate."
