The Group F drama intensifies as Netherlands play Sweden
Germany are challenging for Group E top spot with Côte d'Ivoire
Curaçao and Ecuador aim to open their accounts
It is back to action for the teams in Groups E and F, with opening winners Germany and Côte d'Ivoire squaring off to see who could potentially claim top spot in their group, while soaring Sweden lock horns with the Netherlands. Curaçao clash with Ecuador with both teams eager to bounce back from defeats, and Japan tangle with a Tunisia side .
Julian Nagelsmann's side will be confirmed as Group E winners if they defeat Côte d'Ivoire and Ecuador are unable to take full points from Curaçao, while the same scenario exists for Emerse Fae's men with a win against the Germans and an Ecuador win or draw against the islanders. Should defeat befall either Curaçao or Ecuador, they run the risk of elimination.
After their impressive five-goal haul against Tunisia, Sweden stand atop Group F and can punch their knockout round ticket with a win against the Dutch. Sweden would claim first place in the group with a victory, combined with a Japan loss or draw.
Renard is now at the helm of Tunisia with the hope of turning things around and keep the north Africans alive going into their finale. Defeat to a Japan team that drew 2-2 with the Netherlands and a win from Ronald Koeman's side over Sweden would mean elimination for Renard's new charges.
