It was a game of hugely contrasting emotions for forward Petar Musa.
The FC Dallas star marked his debut with an incredible goal in the city in which he plays his club football. Deep into first-half injury time, the 28-year-old struck a sweet volley after Ivan Perisic headed Mario Pasalic's chipped ball into his path to level the scores against England at two apiece.
There was an extra cheer at Dallas Stadium when Musa's ball nestled into the net and the emotions on his face were palpable as he ran away in celebration. England turned up the gear after the break, however, ultimately securing a well-deserved .
"The feeling was incredible to score the goal here at home," Musa said afterwards. "But I am not happy because we lost the game and there is not much to celebrate."
There was little surprise for the fans in Dallas to see Musa on the scoresheet. After all, he netted 12 times in 13 matches at the start of the 2026 Major League Soccer season, impressive form which earned him a call-up to the Croatia squad.
The 28-year-old was taken of midway through he second half, as he was "out of gas." But you can bet his memorable goal in front of his home fans will give him all the energy he needs for the campaign ahead.
