Australia v Egypt: Live stream, team news, tickets and more

Friday, 3 July | Dallas Stadium

13:00 (Dallas) | 04:00 4 July (Canberra) | 21:00 (Cairo)

A fascinating showdown is in store when Egypt and Australia go head-to-head in Dallas. Egypt made history in the group phase, recording their first World Cup victory when they beat New Zealand 3-1. Hossam Hassan's team finished second in their group, and will be hungry to continue their journey in North America. They will face an Australia team who also progressed to the last 32 as runners-up. The Socceroos are aiming to win a World Cup knockout game for the first time.

The winners of the game will play Argentina or Cabo Verde in the Round of 16 in Atlanta on 7 July.

"This is another opportunity not to think about the future, but about the present. We know how big this game is and I think all the players are ready to deliver. We have to really stay in the moment. The history gets made after the game, so we have to do our part during the match, to create that history." Tony Popovic, Australia coach

"Australia are a very well-rounded team. They're not just about long balls - they have plenty of individual quality as well. Egypt are not a small football nation. We've won the Africa Cup of Nations seven times, and this squad has plenty of individual talent. We need to play a balanced game. Containing set pieces and dealing with aerial balls will be crucial against a team that relies heavily on them. Every team has its strengths and weaknesses. We're well prepared for whatever Australia brings." Hossam Hassan, Egypt coach
