Jordan’s time in the is now over following their in their Group J finale.
While they depart with three defeats, they can hold their heads high after finding the back of the net in each of their three encounters, something that few debutants in the global finals can say.
“We gave everything we could to score against Argentina. It's been maybe so many games, and nobody had scored against them, so for us, we should take that as an advantage and we should [build] on that,” said midfielder Noor Al Rawabdeh to FIFA. “We should be proud of ourselves. They are the world champions at the end [of the day]. We did everything we could. It's a big game, a big tournament for us. We took this experience and we want to say sorry to our people. We gave everything and ‘Inshallah’, next time, it will be better.”
Argentina was the ultimate measuring stick for Jordan, as their eyes were opened as to how the elite of world football performs on the biggest stage.
Al Rawabdeh has no doubt that that this will serve Jordan very well going into the next cycle for 2030.
“For us, we learned like physical wise, that it's a top rhythm, it’s so fast with them,” he said. “And also, small details make a big difference in these games. We make a lot of small mistakes, so many free-kicks [conceded], we should work on that. But I think overall, we are satisfied, our people are happy for us for this first time in the World Cup and I think we gave everything.”
