Its run came to an end in the semifinals, a 2-0 loss to France.

As for Spain, it is unbeaten in 35 straight games (26-9-0, W-D-L) since March 2024, tying the longest undefeated run in team history.

He has 62 goals in 54 appearances for his country.
England has now made three straight quarterfinals at the World Cup for the first time since doing so between 1962 and 1970.
This is Norway's first-ever quarterfinals appearance at the World Cup.

Meanwhile, Switzerland advanced to the quarterfinals after its penalty shootout win over Colombia in the Round of 16.
The Swiss have reached their first World Cup quarterfinals since 1954.
This is also the first time ever that Switzerland has advanced in two consecutive knockout stage matches at the World Cup.
