2026 World Cup Odds: USA Surges After Huge Opening Win vs. Paraguay

The biggest sporting event North America has ever hosted is in full swing, and two of the co-hosts, Mexico and the United States, are off to a dream start.

men's national team followed up Mexico's opening match victory in the 2026 FIFA World Cup with one of its own on Friday.

The USA had a dominant performance, beating Paraguay 4-1.

Mexico kicked off the tournament with a decisive 2-0 victory over South Africa on Thursday.

But the USA's odds to lift the trophy saw a great spike on Friday evening.

The Stars and Stripes are now +3500 to win the World Cup after its opening match victory.

Before the tournament, the USA was +5500 to win the tournament.

Mexico, meanwhile, saw its odds to win the tournament climb from +5500 to +5000 following its win.

With 100 matches remaining, Spain is currently the slight favorite to win the World Cup at +460, with France right on their heels at +470.

Behind those two European powerhouses, England comes third on the oddsboard at +750 with Portugal (+800), Brazil (+900) and Argentina (+950) behind them.

For the next 37 days, the 2026 FIFA World Cup is taking place across the USA, Canada and Mexico — all streaming on FOX One.

The tournament will culminate at New York New Jersey Stadium on July 19, 2026, with one nation lifting the trophy and forever etching its name into history.
